How old do you have to be to go clubbing in Chicago?

How old do you have to be to go clubbing in Chicago?

And what are some good clubs downtown?
Does 17+ mean 18 and above? Or can you go in if you are 17?

Most clubs in and around Downtown are 21+, same as the legal drinking age in Illinois. However, there are a few that allow 18+ in on some nights of the week. Typically if your in the 18-20 yr old bracket you will be charged more of an admission fee (due to 21+’ers buying alcohol, and you not!). Club admission usually starts at $10 before midnight and $20 after. Most joints are open until 5am on Fridays and Saturdays, but some do close at 3am.

Whereas your best bet is to go to www.metromix.com, two of my DT fav’s are Excalibur (632 N. Dearborn St.) and Soundbar (226 W. Ontario St.). Both are located in the River North area of Downtown and both have dress codes (collared shirts, no sneakers, no shorts, no hats).

We Chicagoans are a big fan of the drink, so there pubs, bars, and clubs all over the city. We also have a great transportation system composing of elevated trains, 24 hour subways, and reliable buses that span the entire city and well into the massive suburbs. A few great party neighborhoods are Wrigleyville (Red Line Addison stop), Wicker Park/Bucktown (Blue Line Damen stop), Rush Street (Red Line Division stop), and Little Italy (Pink Line Polk stop). Also check out Logan Square, Ukrainian Village, Lakeview, Warehouse District, Beverly, and Greektown. You’ll not only find great bars and clubs in the areas, but some of the greatest restaurants in the country

Chicago may not be the largest city, but we have the most people
