Good beginners piano lessons used to only be on hand for rich people. You may possibly even have visions of little girls and little boys dressed correctly for their piano lessons and coming back home to their expensive houses that had a piano. It used to be only rich people that have a good piano in their home, and little kids envied their neighbors and friends for having the opportunity to learn such an instrument.
As time went by, piano lessons became obtainable for the middle class as well, and more and more kids were being exposed to the piano. This still left out plenty of kids whose parents could not afford the training, and in an ideal world any child or adult must be able to study how to play the piano regardless of the fee.
