I know they are 3 different things, but what are the differences and what do people do at each of the locations? And particularly, why do guys go to these places to pick up chicks? And why do chicks claim they just want to "dance" when they just want to get guys? Or am I assuming all wrong? Someone please tell me the differences between a bar/lounge/night club!
There are many types of bars, which can be categorized according to the types of entertainment provided at the bar and by their clientèle.
Bars categorized by the type of entertainment or activities offered at the bar include: Topless bars, where topless female employees serve drinks or dance; sports bars, where sports fans watch games on large-screen televisions; salsa bars, where patrons dance to Latin salsa music; and dance bars, which have a modest-sized dance floor where patrons dance to recorded music. However, if a dance bar has a large dance floor and hires well-known professional DJs, it is usually considered to be nightclub or discothèque.
Bars categorized by the clientele who come to the bar include: biker bars, which are bars frequented by motorcycle enthusiasts, and in some regions, motorcycle gang members; gay bars, where gay men or women dance and socialize; cop bars, where off-duty law enforcement agents gather; and singles bars where (mostly) unmarried people of both genders can socialize and meet.
A bar’s owners and managers typically choose establishment names, decor, drink menus, lighting and other elements they can control so as to attract a certain clientele. However, bar operators have only limited influence over who patronizes their establishments and a bar envisioned for one demographic can become popular with another. For example, a gay bar with a dance floor might attract an increasingly-straight clientele over time and vice versa. As well, a blues club may become a de facto "biker bar" if its main clients are biker gang members.
There are also retro bars and lounge bars.

girls want guys…guys want girls….bar/lounges/nightclubs pack them all into one place, and alcohol causes people to lower their inhibitions so they tend to socialize more.
These are not "official" definitions, but here is a good GENERALIZATIONS…of course, each venue will be different and have its own unique offers
BARS
usually is a smaller location, maybe as little as 500 square feet. Usually the first and primary (maybe only) thing you see is a big "bar"
They serve drinks, sometimes food, but mostly just liquor. There may be a pool table or two, dartboard etc. But the main thing is a place to sit and get a quick drink or two. Pubs tend to be more local focused, and sports bars, ad tables and wings with TVs so it focuses on drinkers who like sports. Usually come as you are with no cover charge. A jukebox usually provides music in the background, maybe one or two Big screens.
LOUNGE
A lounge is usually bigger than a bar, may have a dress code and often time charge a "cover" or "door" charge. Lounges often have themes of their own, have much more expensive decor and have higher drink prices than a bar. Some go for the super upscale as "ULTRALounges" It may or may not offer food. Lounges usually have multiple bars and booths and tables for people to "lounge around" in. Socialize in groups. Lounges may also share other features of a bar. Usually has a DJ and small dance floor but its not a focus.
NIGHTCLUB
Primary focus is the dance floor. For people who like to dance. Live DJ, light show, expensive and loud sound system. Expensive drinks, cover/door charge, dress code, security are all common. Celebrity or Live Entertainment is often featured at nightclubs, and can be as big as 5000 or 10,000 square feet in the "mega clubs":
