How can I learn how to dance at a nightclub?

Posted on December 1st, 2009 by admin in nightclub | 3 Comments »

I really love going out to nightclubs, but I’m pretty bad at dancing and I’m not confident at all on the dance floor. I would like to know if there are any videos, tutorials… in youtube or on the internet. I found tutorials that I think would help (The Nightclub Dance Series: Sexy Moves For The Club and Girls Night Out), but my parents don’t want to buy it and they don’t have them in public libraries where I live. Thanks!

i know how you feel. and i was so stiff at dancing at nightclubs i waited until i was drunk to get up.
but i took up belly dancing 2 years ago and i have to say i can really move now (without any alcohol). you need to take up a dance class like belly dancing were you wake up those dance muscles and get flexible. strengthen and flex those specific muscles to a point that you can dance no matter what.
the muscles i feel i use most while dancing are my love handles, abs a.s.s and thighs

Take a Ballroom Dance class. Yes, I’m serious :) Some of the people from my ballroom dance club cleared a floor once at a club because people were so impressed by what they knew. And they were only doing basic ChaCha. Smooth dances (like Waltz, tango, foxtrot, etc) aren’t the nightclub type, but you can bring Latin dances (ChaCha, Salsa, Samba, Rhumba, etc). People think it’s cool when you can do something like that. Though – you have to be the one to put in all the flair. It’s all about presentation, like any type of dance.

I agree with Courtney thanks to my own experience.

I actually did salsa and it has probably changed my life in a social sense.

You can go into any club and use some salsa moves to almost any kind of music. It really impresses.

So see if you can join a class somewhere…
